Problems seeing the page?

(if you cannot find the solution to your problem in this page, or you have the solution for a different browser, contact me)

In order to be able to show this website in several languages, it makes use of a technology known as Content Negociation, which strongly depends on the correct configuration of your browser. Unfortunately this technology, like any other, is not infallible, and we have been receiving reports of a number of problems related to correct reception and representation of the site.

Here we summarize some of the detected problems and suggested solutions.

To see the webpage you need to have correctly configured the language preferences of your browser. "Correctly" in this case means that you must have English as an admitted language, even if it is in the last place. The method to follow depends on the browser you use:

Microsoft Internet Explorer

If you look in the "Tools" menu you'll see the "Internet Settings..." option. Choose it and a dialog box pops up with several tabs. At the bottom of the dialog there is a button labelled "Languages...". Push it and a new dialog box will open, with a (possibly empty) list on the left and several buttons on the right. Press the "Add..." button as many times as the number of languages you want to accept (if you don't mind a variety of a language or another, just choose the generic one). Sort them in your order of preference top-down using the "Up" and "Down" buttons. After this you should have a list of languages in your preferred order, in which the English language must be present in order to see the Art of Illusion site. Last, accept all the dialogs. Try to enter the Art of Illusion website again, and I hope that this time you'll be more lucky. If not, get in touch with me.

Netscape 6.x, 7.x, Mozilla

In the "Edit" menu, choose the "Preferences..." option and inside the window that opens, on the left choose the "Navigator->Languages" item. To the right appears a (possibly empty) list of languages in which you prefer to see the web pages. Be sure via the "Add...", "Up" and "Down" buttons that the English language is among those. For instance, if you prefer to see pages in Spanish and if not possible in English, the list should contain, in this order, Spanish[es] and English[en]. Last, accept all the dialogs. Try to enter the Art of Illusion website again, and I hope that this time you'll be more lucky. If not, get in touch with me.

Opera 7.x

In the "File" menu, choose the "Preferences..." option and inside the window that opens, on the left choose the "Languages" item.

Konqueror 3.0.1

This browser is slightly more complex, and we have to resort to a trick owing to a KDE lack (in my opinion). Assuming you use KDE, first you have to add to the system the generic English language, copying the /opt/kde/share/locale/en_US directory to /opt/kde/share/locale/en (you must be root). Then open the Control Center and choose "Customization->Country & Language". Add both US English languages, delete your own language in case you had one and add it again so as it is the one and preferred on your system. Then on the left choose "Web Browsing->User Agent", and on the right "Send Browser Identification" and "Add Language COnfiguration". Last apply and accept everything, close the Control Center and try to enter the Art of Illusion website again, and I hope that this time you'll be more lucky. If not, get in touch with me.

Lynx

Open lynx, type "o" (options) and the down arrow key until you reach the "Preferred document language" box. Make sure that among the languages is "en" (English), preceded by any other languages you prefer and succeded by other languages that you prefer worse than English. Last, accept all the settings. Try to enter the Art of Illusion website again, and I hope that this time you'll be more lucky. If not, get in touch with me.

Safari (Mac OS X) (contribución de Ralph Hogaboom)

Open System Preferences, and choose International. On the new screen, under the Languange tab, you'll see a list of languages with a button labelled Edit. Click this button. A box pops up with a list of all the languages. Uncheck every language but yours, then click OK. Close System Preferences, and then restart Safari. The page should be in your chosen language (of those available).
